Well it is one month until the big day, where has the year gone? Are we all looking forward to the festivities or would you rather be somewhere away from it all, away from all the crowds and bustle, away in the quiet with just your family and friends for company, or maybe just you on your own. Well, whatever you decide to do, I hope you are well prepared for it. So, getting ready for the rush, to start with, you need the important "list", at least most people do, not me. I just go and buy vouchers, not my choice but it seems to be the prefered present these days. I do buy a few presents but it is hadly ever a surprise as it will be on their "list" LOL. I look forward to Chistmas Eve, I love Christmas Eve. All the shopping and all the stress is over, on Christmas Eve. The cooking is all prepared, the presents or vouchers are wrapped, the fire is stocked and the dogs have been walked. Now for the relaxing bit. But hey, there's still a month to go yet, what am I thinking? I have some festive decorations in my shop which would love a new home for Christmas together with some lovingly made items from bracelets to wooden hearts. All under £10! Lots of stocking fillers to please your loved ones. I even have the odd bandana for your furry friend. (Your dog that is, LOL) I keep my postage down to as low as I can, so if you are in the U.K, its only 90p. So, if you are looking for something, it would be lovely to see you here. Happy Shopping. Take Care, catcha soon.xx

How fantastic ihas the weather been??? Here in the U.K. we talk about the weather an awful lot, because, its so changable. One day it can be brilliant sunshine and the next it can be hammering it down in rain!! Anyway, its great because people are so much more happier. You may notice that I have a lot more in my shop, this is because I am slowly breaking away from my Etsy shop. Time for me to break free. But, please don't worry if you have had your eye on something, because if it hasn't already sold then I shall be transfering things in my shop here. I intend to enjoy more of the sewing side, as I love fabrics and browsing fabric shops. I don't do custom orders at the moment but if there is something you have in mind, I can always see if I have the time to oblige. I love hippy type clothes and boho chic style jewellery and aim to follow this trend in my shop when I have the time to replenish my stock. Recently I have added some pet items, such as bandanas and walking bag. The bandanas are a new line and seeing how they go .As a dog owner, or 2, I do have an interest in doggy things, so we will see? For those of you who buy local, please check out your local arts and craft fairs, there are a lot of very talented people who would love you to attend. For me I have a fundraising event this coming Saturday in support of an animal charity, but as I am typing it is teaming down with rain, oh no!!!! I am just hoping it will clear for tomorrow, fingers crossed! If you see something in my shop where I can send a fabric sample, please ask, as I have done this in the past and customers find this really helpful, though, I am only able to do this within the U.K. because of the cost of sending it. Happy days, Catcha soon.x I know this has absolutely nothing to do with my shop, but its such a lovely photo of one of my dogs, that I just had to share it! I took it on a spur of the moment and I was really pleased with it. As people with black dogs know, how very hard it is to take a good one. I do hope you like it, his name is Jasper and he is 2. Anyway, talking of dogs, I have just started making bandanas, going to see how they go and if they sale well, then I shall make it a permanemt line. I shall be doing a fair sometime in July, so, this will be a good tester for them. I actually made a special one for Jasi, as he is nervous in certain situations, I embroidered (not very well LOL) the word Nervous on it, it was actually my sons old Cubs scarf, I needed something quick for a festival we were going to last year, and I thought, well, he won't need it anymore as he IS 15! LOL. Mind you, people thought it was cute, but never really took any notice of it, they just wanted to stroke him, but he wasn't too bad, really. Chat soon, have a fab week.x Are we sooo glad the lighter nights and warmer days are here, at last! It brings a smile to everyones faces and we get outdoors a lot more. This photo was taken in April in Devon, we stayed there for a few days, it was lovely. Took some fab photos, its so pictureque. It also means I can get and do some crafting outdoors soon anyway, but today it is raining :(. I get to put my bunting up soon too which I made for myself last year and get to make some more to go in the garden too. My bunting goes down well, I take a lot of care when making it, it should last quite a time. Made some for last Christmas and sold it to an overseas customer, who absolutely loved it, this makes me very happy knowing my makes are well received. Can't help it, I'm a bit obsessed about bunting, LOL! I get to buy loads of my favourite fabrics in all sorts of patterns and colours, the list is endless when you make this. I never tire of it, bunting brings smiles and the wind blows it about, I associate it with fairs and the seaside, parties and cottages with cottage chic style decor, you can hang it on your gazebo, on your tent when you camp, take it to festivals, oh loads of places it can go. So, heres to Bunting and a happy and sunny May. Have a good one!x Well Easter is just around the corner, the sun is shining in the West country, UK, little lambs are jumping around and the Easter eggs are in the shops. I love this time of the year, the blossoms out and people have a smile on their face, there is something about sunshine :)
This brings people out too, be it for a cycle ride or a walk, it is a lovely time of the year, in fact I'm usually really booked up by now with Spring and Summer Fairs but I have chosen not to do any Spring Fairs this year, I found I was exhausting myself attending so many last year, so I have put my energy into my Etsy shop, which is doing well, considering I have not long started stocking it. And of course because it is handmade, it does take time to create and list. I am really pleased with my reviews too, my customers are lovely and look forward to having them shop with me again. I also have another shop on Etsy called LavenderLillyCove where I sell old treasures and recycled items, not many items in there at the moment, but working on it :) Great if you could check it out! So have a great Easter and don't eat too many eggs! Oh, and please be careful not to leave any laying around if you have a dog :) . . . . .or 2 Well the clocks has sprung forward and spring has sprung! the blossom is on the cherry trees and magnolia trees, the first sign of the warmer weather to come, we hope anyway.
Of course, its Mothering Sunday too! So all you mums out there, including mums to be and ladies who are like a mum to someone, I hope you have had a great day. Isn't it great though to see the birds getting their nests ready, I actually seen some butterflies today and some bees too, I just hope we don't get a cold spell. So with Spring comes Weddings and Holidays, awww, holidays.. . . . . . . . This time of year is the best for me, I really love jewellery making now, the light is good, the evenings are warmer and I can get a better photo too. You won't find many dark colours in my shop, I love blues, and these sell most at the craft fairs I attend. It is still a very popular colour, especially turquoise colour. This colour reminds me of the med. Then of course there are Weddings, I had minty green for my bridesmaids and am pleased to say it is in this year. Its a gorgeous colour. So if you are getting married check out this seasons colours. You will find lots of inspiration if you check out the handmade site Etsy, there you will find great makers and designers, many items one of a kind. Take a look, you will be most welcome. Take care. Lin. xx I love making things and you will see when you browse my shop the variety of items I have available, this is a new experience for me to have a separate website for my yummy stuff, I have linked it to my shop on Etsy.
I can't wait to see how many visitors I have! This blog will be a bit short today as I am still trying to get my shop in order. So Please be patient while this is happening. Take Care and I will be back soon.xx |
