Hiya! Bit late, its the 7th of June! Hope you are all well and enjoying this month with its mixed weather..... I have been really busy in our garden so have not done much in the way of sewing or jewellery making. And I have now reactivated my Folksy Shop which is the home of British handmade, great shops and no resellers! Same name.. Amberlillys Handmade, so if you can spare the time, be great to see you have a browse. folksy.com/shops/Amberlilly I do love my garden, i have quite a mature garden, (as an estate agent would describe it.) And its fairly large, which means if it gets out of hand, then you will regret ignoring it, which is my problem now. We had a lovely crop of grapes last year, but this year i have had to give the vines an enormous hair cut as they were getting way out of hand, and we have some little grapes forming already so, it obviously loves its situation! I'm in the south west of the U.K. and the weather is not too bad, and we don't normally get really bad weather, but we do get frosts. Though these are gone now we are in June. I am not a contemporary style gardener, i do love the natural easy going look. And I looove roses! Gardening is so good for the soul, it lifts your mood, and helps keep you fit. I used to have an allotment with a friend, but found we just never had enough time to give it the attention it needed, but its so rewarding. you are in a different frame of mind while you are tending to the soil. and what a great feeling when you are turning over the soil and the visiting Robin comes to say hi and helps itself to a little worm or 2.
Just wish this weather would make up its mind! We had a rainy few days and in the middle a taste of summer! Hahaha... oh well, that the British weather for you. Take care. Lin. Hello everyone and welcome to my drop in for April.
I hope you are all well. I love this time of the year and when the garden starts to wake up from its winter sleep here in the UK. I am trying to make sense of our garden, we had to pull our pergola down because the wood had rotted through, such a shame, it was great in the heat as we had 2 grape vines growing over it as well, managed to save the vines. Debating what to put there now. Do we keep grass or get it paved? Grass would be much easier and more cost effective. Will update when we know what we are going to do. Well, as you may know I have an Etsy and Amazon uk shop, and most of my dog accessories are aimed at the colder seasons, I have started a new line in dog bandanas, and I do love making them as I just love fabric and all the patterns and colours you can get. Of course I still make my boho hippie jewellery, especially great for the summer festivals. Love still playing with my beads! www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AmberlillysHandmade Well hello everyone and I hope you had a good new year. I am so pleased the shortest day is now gone, heres to the brighter days. Almost time to show off your summer feet! Must get making some more Anklets. This one shown here, is a turtle, how cute is it. I also have a few more of various designs in my Etsy shop. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AmberlillysHandmade/items And, its Valentines day next month then Mothers Day in March. and if you are into crystals, please take a look at some of my quartz jewellery. I love Rose Quartz and Amethyst. Who doesn't recognise them, almost everyone i would say. I love making Anklets, probably because i love summer. I really appreciate you taking time just to read this little blog and help support small handmade businesses like mine. We love what we do, and most shops like mine are unique and don't duplicate because they are mainly one off items. I'm also on Instagram, so come say hi. Best wishes. Lin. x Hi Everyone! Hope you are all well? And not getting too stress for the big day? Remember, its just one day, and its all over for another year. So enjoy it and remember to not get stressed or you won't have the fun you deserve. Many are shopping on-line now, and are not supporting our High Street as we should, but its hard when all around you they are closing down.
Don't know about you but i do try and support where i can. I shop on a very large road in Bristol, (UK) the Gloucester Road. There are loads of independent shops there. But not every area are so lucky. Everywhere we look our local shops are closing. And remember to support your local post office, this is really important too. I have some of my items in a Art and Coffee shop in Littlehampton. These such places play a very important role in our community. They are social places and places to share a coffee or to just chat about local interests. I have some of my dog snoods there. It also allows dogs in, which is great. It is called Pier Road Coffee and Art. Check it out if you are local. This time of year we are looking for gifts, some unique or just plan different gifts to give. And of course not forgetting your furry friend. So don't forget to check out some of my items in my Etsy Shop. I send really quick as all my things are ready to go. I know its really mild in the UK at the moment, but as you know it can turn cold very fast! That's our barmy weather for you. Today its been really mild at 15 degrees. But next week...who knows. Thanks for reading and enjoy your shopping! Have fun remember! Lin. x www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AmberlillysHandmade October, where did summer go! but, hey what a summer we had in the UK.. Time to cosy down, kick leaves and enjoy those chilly walks with your furry friend. I am not a lover of the cooler days but they are a welcome for many people and the dogs don't seem to mind., those muddy walks though!!! I try to alter my walks in the colder seasons, otherwise they can become a bore. We have just come back from a Cornish break and the weather was mixed but mild. and a lovely time had by all. The 2 woofers had a brilliant time. I treated them to a new winter jacket. Very smart they looked too. I need to make some more. These fit them so well. My dog snoods seem to be a nice choice for many woofers, great for an older or smaller dog. Find some here, i have a Folksy Shop and am also on Etsy. Love making them. (Both shops in the menu or link for Etsy below) So next stop Christmas! Phew... what fun the year has been, and its not over yet though and plenty more adventures to look forward to. Today i took them swimming, i now have 2 very tired dogs. One swims like a fish and the other...well... hahhaa. Take care. Lin. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AmberlillysHandmade Hello and i hope everyone is well today!
I am getting ready for the cooler weather with a variety of reasons. I firstly have a large garden and need to start putting it to bed after the autumn colours have all diminished. I have a gorgeous Virginia Creeper taking over my very boring concrete wall. When its in colour i shall post a photo. And secondly I make dog snoods and dog coats to help keep your little furry friends warm and dry. I started making dog coats for my ginger spaniel cross and the one i bought never fitted, and kept falling off her. Several years later, I still have it, its still just wearable, mainly because she likes to roll in all sorts of things. and if you are a dog owner, you will know what I mean by this! Hahha! So I am impressed it has actually lasted this long! And I made it with a wax cotton material, so it needs re-waxing as well. I must do this. But I have decided not to make anymore in this material as most of us like to wash our dog coats and this isn't as practical as the other materials i now use. A small selection below. I have loads more in my Etsy Shop and my Folksy Shop (Home of British Handmade) Be great to see you there. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/AmberlillysHandmade Bye for now, Take Care. Lin. <3 https://folksy.com/shops/Amberlilly Hello everyone, Im just popping in to show you this easy to wear bracelet I have just made, This cute little bracelet, that can be worn by a guy or a girl. It has 3 printed wooden lightweight beads and is on brown cotton cord. I have another waiting to be listed soon, which is slightly different. I don't like making the same thing too many times. What do you think? I shall have it available here £5.99 folksy.com/items/7177011-Wood-Beaded-bracelet-with-cotton-cord So here we are with August coming to an end with autumn fast approaching and not being a big lover of the cooler weather but I know we need our seasons, Around this time i start to create some new dog accessories, dog cowls and coats. It has been a very busy time for me and I haven't had time to create anything new. Sadly! So with the cooler weather approaching in the Uk, don't forget your little furry friend, they feel the cold too. But I have created some lush earrings today, which are available in my folksy Shop and soon in my Etsy shop if you prefer to look there. But please check back periodically to see if there are any new dog clothes. I shall also be doing some personalised items for our furry friends, so watch this space. This time of year many people are thinking of Christmas gift ideas, and I have many of these in my shop. I love doing what I do, I love making things that bring a smile. But roll on Spring and keep smiling, keep happy and please come visit again. Take care. Lin. Hello everyone, still warm here in the Uk! I love this weather and this time of year. You maybe aware that I create? I ceate jewellery and make dog accessories, yes, an odd combo! But love both. I am a beading addict and love dogs very much. In my shop you will find bechy jewellery, some of my creations are unisex, so hey, you can swap! Then when the summer is almost over, we come into autumn when people are looking to keep their pooches warm and dry, so this is when my dog coats and snoods come to light. The snoods especially are popular. I like to find fabric designs that are a bit different. And of course they have to be comfortable. You will find a selection of these in my Folksy Shop. I have sold quite a few and some return customers as well. These have got to be my favourite dog accessory to make as well. I actually made one in the same fabric for myself as I loved the fabric so much.. Everything I make is fun, of course the dog accessories are practical as well. But at the moment I am busy making jewellery. Below is my latest Anklet, and is on sale now, and i have only the one. If you fancy a look, heres the link to my shop. folksy.com/shops/Amberlilly I am really pleased you have taken time out to have a read, and even better if you support small handmade shops. Remember to come say Hi on Instagram, its always nice to have a chat. Lin xxx |
